No template. A measurement, then a plan.

Two thirteen-year-old guards can need opposite things. A program that treats them the same is guessing on at least one of them.

Most athletes train. Few follow a structured development plan. Our work is getting your family out of the confusion and into clarity.

Most of the work is a conversation about what the numbers mean.

How it works

1. Assess

We measure first-step speed, vertical jump, strength, and how your athlete controls a landing. You see every number. So does she.

2. Train what the data says

The plan is built from your athlete's actual gaps, not from what an average player might need.

For most young basketball players that means first-step power, progressive strength, and jump work matched with landing control.

3. Re-measure

We test again on a schedule and put the before-and-after in front of you. Improvement is shown, not promised.

One system sits underneath every step — the Athlete Academy Standard™ — the framework our evaluations, programming, and athlete reports are all built on.

One idea to keep: ask any program what it measured on day one. If the answer is nothing, the plan was written before your athlete walked in.

He trained me over thousands of miles, many different weight rooms, quarantines, limited equipment and no equipment, time zones, and a heavy travel schedule. I walked into spring and summer 2021 in the best physical shape possible.

What it has produced

I came to Aaron to increase athleticism and power. He helped develop my functional movements as a professional basketball player — increasing my performance while decreasing my chance of serious injury on the court. He was a big proponent of ankle mobility, which was new for me and something I had not concentrated on before. I only wish I had found him earlier in my career.

My daughter wanted to physically prepare herself to compete at the DI level in basketball. She came away with real knowledge of strength and speed training, which she believed helped with injury prevention. Several people commented that she looked quicker on the court, and I noticed growth in her confidence. She believes her training with Aaron was a turning point in her development as an all-around athlete.
Betsy CromptonParent · daughter competed at DI in basketball
I trained with Aaron the summer before my college basketball season and achieved a personal best across all pre-season fitness tests — the beep test, squat and bench. The increased endurance let me last longer at higher sustained effort in practice and games, and the added strength was evident when going for rebounds. I still do similar training two or three times a week.

Questions parents ask

Is this a substitute for team practice or skills training?

No. The team and the skills trainer develop the basketball; we develop the athlete the basketball runs on. Families keep their schedule and we fit the development dose around it, including easing off in tournament weeks.

What makes the plan individual?

It starts from your athlete’s measured baselines — first step, vertical, strength, and movement control — and it changes when her re-test numbers change. Nothing is prescribed off a chart.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the right program for your athlete, so we discuss it directly rather than posting a menu. Contact us and you will get plain numbers and zero pressure.
